Tally inputs and EDL channels are fixed to each other.
Sources cut to PGM – without tally signalling to the EDL-REC – such as players/feeds/servers, cameras without separate recording or stills/black/bars/... are internally recorded as "No Tally" events in the EDL-REC.
When generating an EDL, "No Tally" can then be assigned in the EDL-REC blk, for example EDL channel 9.
EDL channel 9 could then be used, for example, with the PGM recording in the multiclip.
More than 2 tallys incoming at the same time in the EDL-REC – as for example with DVE/PiP effects – are internally recorded as "Too many Tallys" events in the EDL-REC.
When generating an EDL, "Too many Tallys" can then be assigned in the EDL-REC blk, for example EDL channel 10.
EDL channel 10 could then be used, for example, with a Clean/AUX recording in the multiclip.
"No Tally" and "Too many Tallys" events can also be assigned to an EDL channel together.
We recommend inserting a PGM recording in the EDLs for this.
For example, an EDL-REC blk with 10 EDL channels can generate:
- EDLs with 4 cameras
- EDLs with 4 cameras + PGM
- EDLs with 8 cameras + PGM & Clean.
