Lengthy live shows recorded for much shorter transmission slots. Often a 3 hour show needs editing down to a 90 minute slot. The editing is greatly helped and the resulting program often improved with the use of EDL-Recording. EDL-REC captures all the live production crews best shots (the on-air stuff) which can used by the editor as a starting point. With the marker keypads the live production staff can warn the editor of shots that should be cut out, and those that must be used, etc. The editor can then instantly find the footage and start trimming in / out points.
